The Advocate (Coffs Harbour), October 2004
For most men a beer at their local on a Friday afternoon is the only way to unwind after a week's work, that is until you meet Brett Anthony.
Since 1997 Brett has pulled up a chair at Stetson's Steakhouse and Saloon (SSS) BBQ Barn in Coffs Harbour to enjoy quiet time.
A lot of guys head down to the pub, I go to SSS and have a feed before heading home. This is how I unwind, Brett said.
Admitting he was a fussy eater, Brett said it was the great atmosphere, music and food which sees him greet the staff at 5.30pm most Fridays.
Staying for an hour, Brett will unwind before going home to his wife and two children. And, because of his patronage at the restaurant, Brett doesn't even need to order.
In fact, he hasn't looked at the menu for more than a year as the staff know him and bring out his coke, popcorn, entrée (Smokey's Showdown) and main meal (invariably Country Plains Chicken Breast and Rump).
The franchisees of SSS Coffs Harbour, Jarrod and Maree Medway, said they had more than a fair number of regulars.
The restaurant won the Restaurant and Catering Services award in the NSW Tourism Awards and will go on to the State awards to be announced next month.
