Graham Manvell – Partnership, Passion, Perseverance
Many people talk about and often give inexperienced suggestion to what others should do to reach success, rarely is there an authority like Graham Manvell who not only delivers with experience but provides an honest and inspiring presentation into some of the best business and personal solutions to create true and long lasting success.
This tireless entrepreneur has done it all and come out on top. Never one to shy aware from adventure, the Graham Manvell is a force to be reckoned with and his insight provides inspiration to all fortunate enough to learn from him.
With Graham, his entire business and personal philosophy revolves around passion and determination. His leadership and natural aptitude for recognising opportunities has elevated him as an expert on understanding business growth, client and customer expectation, staff development, team member retention and personal satisfaction.
Some may measure success based on possession, Graham can boast a restaurant chain of nine, a fully operational brewery and vineyard, buffalo farms and more enterprises constantly coming through. However, possession is simply only a reward to Mr Manvell, the learning’s and development he has provided for so many and the passion he has instilled is far greater in value to Graham.

His teachings and talks do not promote unreachable goals or uncalculated risks, they do however focus on being the best, delivering the best and providing always the best you can in business and personal life. As Graham says, “if you are going to go broke, do it the best you can”. Graham believes there is simply no need for second best or half hearted attempts, business is driven by the operator, their attitude and their passion – and he wants to help others see, realise and meet there own potential.

A bit of his story:
Graham Manvell had a dream - to open a chain of superior service restaurants around Australia. Together with his wife Marlene, that dream came true.
Graham is a chef of world renown. He started his apprenticeship in Australia, and has worked around the globe in places such as the London Savoy, the Sebel Townhouse, Mount Lofty House and Powerhouse International. He is one of the most highly skilled and awarded chefs in Australia, and his career achievements are remarkable.
He was a member of the highest-ranking Australian National Team to compete in the Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt, winning a Gold Medal in the coveted "Restaurant of Nations" section. He has also won several prestigious International Medals in Germany, Luxembourg and Singapore and has gained over thirty National Culinary Competition Medals.
Although now retired from competing, Graham was only to happy to loan a kitchen to one of the later the 2004 Culinary Olympic teams before heading off to Germany to compete, practicing in Brisbane’s sSs
Very highly regarded as a judge and has gained International Standing with contacts far and wide and was the founding secretary of the Australian Culinary Federation and a director of the N.S.W Restaurant and Caterers Association
Marlene's background is just as noteworthy, her knowledge and experience gained from having worked overseas is impressive and she has a superb background in professional hospitality within Australia.
Together, Graham and Marlene set up Jumbuck Cottage in Tamworth during August 1990. It is a credit to their skill and hard work that Jumbuck Cottage was recognized as the place to dine for fine food, wine and excellent service. Their popular 4 Star Guesthouse was one of the latest additions to their exciting, and fast growing corporation. This was sold to start and to expand on their successful sSs BBQ Barn Steakhouse chain.

The first of the Saloons opened in November 1993. The strategy and the concept behind the sSs BBQ Barns Steakhouse has been to cater for a very broad market - all walks of life must feel welcome.
In an industry where staff turn over is high and staff morale and satisfaction is often low, Graham and Marlene have focused on recruiting that meets the values and passion of the business and themselves. This has allowed the Manvell’s to implement development programs that now see their franchises being secured by individuals who have grown through the ranks of the Manvell enterprise.
As more sSs BBQ Barns Steakhouses continue to open, the home grown chain of steakhouses and BBQ Barns offer excellent customer service, superior dining, escapism and an unforgettable experience.
